Politics, Foreign Policy, Current Events and Occasional Outbursts Lacking Couth

Mere hours after Barack Obama made his Veep choice I received not one but three emails from the McCain campaign (asking for money and) pointing out Biden's previous (back when he was running for the nomination) comments on Obama's leadership capability. In short Biden, during an early debate, told moderator George Snuffaluffagus (not even going to try and spell it) he found Obama "unready" for Presidential leadership.

In watching Biden's acceptance speech (solid speech if a bit vapid in evoking McCain and Bush as though the two were one) and the subsequent over analysis on Fox (they report and over analyze, I decide) I was privy to a McCain ad that attacked Biden in exactly the same fashion. The choice of a previous contender carries some hefty baggage and provides solid ammunition for your opposition. Obama's camp is going to have to work like hell to drown out the negativity between the two during the primary and convince their base that Biden, venerable veteran that he is, isn't a symbol of the old guard that Obama's message, ad nauseam, of Change is targeted at.

Soob,
If you haven't done so already, sign up for the Obama and Barr campaign emails.
They occasionally become annoying, but you'll never run out of things to write about.

If you're a natural cynic, this stuff will give you 80 more days of pure happiness and sunshine.

The Snuffaluffagus is a Sesame Street puppet. I guess he's been moonlighting as a debate moderator. He'd probably be better at it than most of the Dem ringers the MSM throws in.

Allen, yeah I'm a bit of a cynic and campaign emails could make for fine posting fodder.

dick, yeah I wasn't up to tackling "Stephanopoulos" and Snuffaluffagus had a comical ring to it.
