Is Dianne Feinstein an Idiot?

Consider (via PSlog):

A senior U.S. lawmaker said Thursday that unmanned CIA Predator aircraft operating in Pakistan are flown from an air base in that country, a revelation likely to embarrass the Pakistani government and complicate its counter-terrorism collaboration with the United States.

The disclosure by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, marked the first time a U.S. official had publicly commented on where the Predator aircraft patrolling Pakistan take off and land.

At a hearing, Feinstein expressed surprise over Pakistani opposition to the campaign of Predator-launched CIA missile strikes against Islamic extremist targets along Pakistan's northwestern border.

"As I understand it, these are flown out of a Pakistani base," she said.
There's been lots of talk on the more conservative toobs about this being some duplicitous effort to hurt the war effort in Afghanistan. I doubt it. Feinstein's not a traitor, she's just an idiot. That this woman chairs the senate Intelligence Committee is both comical and frightening.

Jay - Please tell me what you think of Dianne Feinstien and don't hold back...LOL.

Joking aside, members of congress slip up more often than we think and reveal state secrets. There is probably nothing we can do about it but blog, like you, about it. Certainly no Senator is going to be punished. It is pathetic though.

Great Post.

I understand the Democrats are anxious to cap executive pay. Have they ever considered capping the lobby money and graft through sweetheart deals that Congress people receive? Chances are that would not get too much support since it would tough to actually find an honest person in Congress. A novel approach for the IRS collecting back taxes, have Obama make the person a political appointment.

Heh, I'll try to be more forthcoming next time, Jeff. Thanks.

Anon, hah, yeah O could spend the first four months of his Presidency cycling various pols and magnates through political appointments and squeez out their tax schemes and unpaid taxes.

Certainly is. But the problem is that this is not the only one by far. And the worst thing is that these moonbats are paid with public money to do a job they do sooooo badly.

I'm always so late to the game...

Tom Ricks also posted on this too. Turns out the Pakistanis read newspapers too, which doesn't bode well for Zardari, who apparently hid this from the government and the country (with good reason).

Nora, yeah the disconnect between reality and the blind machinations of government is sad.

Stephen Pampinella, you might be late to the play, but you're rarely late to the game by my measure.

She is certainly not a genius. However, isn't it Google Earth who started the snowball?

Snoop,

I don't think so. Feinsteins boobery predates the Times story.
