Politics, Foreign Policy, Current Events and Occasional Outbursts Lacking Couth

Part of President elect Barack Obama's reaction to Blago the Mad's appointment of Roland Burris to his vacant senate seat:

Roland Burris is a good man and a fine public servant, but the Senate Democrats made it clear weeks ago that they cannot accept an appointment made by a governor who is accused of selling this very Senate seat.

Maybe I'm being a bit dim here, but would a "good man" and "fine public servant" accept an appointment from a man facing federal charges and impeachment for corruption and is clearly acting in defiance of federal and state law makers? Curious.
