Should read, "Thank you President Bush for ignoring the will of the people as expressed through their elected representatives and ignoring the spirit, if not the letter, of the concept of separation of powers as expressed in Articles I and II of our Constitution."
It's like I told my dad, though...I figure he just "found" a signing statement attached to Article II that allows the President to disburse funds when necessary to prevent the failure of poorly managed businesses. Those signing statements sure are awful convenient. Anyway, like Cheney said a few days ago, if the President does it during war time, it's not illegal.
I think the Bush legacy won't be quite the historical latrine that many envision but at the same time much of his administrations actions have been decidedly heavy handed.
Oh, I agree, but statements like Cheney's are going to make it tougher and tougher on those who are trying to avoid the historical latrine perception.
I think ultimately foreign policy wise he'll be regarded as somewhat good, if rather inept regarding the details of Iraq, but domestic policy wise he's been a disaster.
