Nothing spells "Border Fence" like political upheaval in Pakistan.
On Thursday night he told reporters in Orlando, Fla.: “We ought to have an immediate, very clear monitoring of our borders and particularly to make sure if there’s any unusual activity of Pakistanis coming into the country.”
On Friday, in Pella, Iowa, he expanded on those remarks.
“When I say single them out I am making the observation that we have more Pakistani illegals coming across our border than all other nationalities except those immediately south of the border,” he told reporters in Pella. “And in light of what is happening in Pakistan it ought to give us pause as to why are so many illegals coming across these borders.”
In fact, far more illegal immigrants come from the Philippines, Korea, China and Vietnam, according to recent estimates from the Department of Homeland Security.
While I agree that our southern border should be much more resilient I remain unconvinced that Pakistan's political upheaval will result in a massive influx of drooling and half mad Pakistani's streaming across the border and laying waste to America. I very much doubt that the first thing on any Pakistan citizen's mind after Bhutto's assassinations was "Christ, I've got to book a flight to Mexico so that I might sneak across the border into the US!"

But you assume that he knows what and where Pakistan is. Need to make sure first he doesn't mix it up with... Venezuela, to take one example ;-)
I have the feeling that this is one of those situations where something is in the news and has buzz therefore a politician makes a comment on it that links it to another point he/she wants to make in order to generate a sound bite.
Too bad he got his facts wrong. My question is if he actually had that little nugget of misinformation tucked in the back of his brain or if a staffer fed it to him as a talking point.
Of course Huckabee knows where Pakistan is - God told him in a phone call.
Lol! I have to give him credit, he's not a bad actor.
Just more proof that Miss South Carolina was correct when she stated that what the US needs is more maps,.
Maybe we should just junk this whole electoral thing and franchise out the elections to the producers of American Idol.
