Falling Pacifism
Yesterdays measures requiring schools to teach patriotism and a Defense Agency upgrade from near obscurity to full ministry is a first step in Japan leaving behind the constitutional pacifism of the last 62 years.
It'll be interesting to watch Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's balancing act as he slowly forges a militarized Japan and attempts to maintain a current apparently positive diplomatic relationship with China. Abe's nationalist policies may also give Kim Jong Haircut additional talking points in defending his nuclear/ballistic tantrums.
