Politics, Foreign Policy, Current Events and Occasional Outbursts Lacking Couth

Time to go

I didn't much care for John Ashcroft. His weird aversion to the female anatomy (which I whole heartedly embrace) in covering a breast baring sculpture made me nervous. I entertained the vision of his entire staff being eunuchs and was taken aback when the "conservative" FCC enacted draconian initiatives in light of Janet Jackson's not really all that attractive nipplegate during Superbowl XXXVIII.

But one thing about Ashcroft: conviction of his beliefs. Him-Who-Hid-Boobs certainly had a firm grasp on his philosophical, political and professional convictions. The same cannot be said regarding our current AG, Alberto Gonzales who has essentially groveled before the feet of the Imperious senate, and effectively shifted executive privilege to legislative consternation. In effect he's unwittingly politicized his own position instead of resisting the highhanded congressional witch hunt. In short he's admitted guilt to a crime that simply doesn't exist. Perhaps he's a better fit for professional practice.
