Politics, Foreign Policy, Current Events and Occasional Outbursts Lacking Couth

Misleading

When I first came across the Centre for Research on Globalization, I thought I'd stumbled on to another useful resource of global intelligence. I'd expected something along the lines of DNI, PINR or even Foreign Affairs whose works certainly carry the opinions of their authors but aren't agenda motivated. Well, I was wrong. A brief example of the content:

Is the Bush Administration Planning a Nuclear Holocaust?.
The new nuclear doctrine turns concepts & realities upside down. It states that nuclear weapons are "safe" and their use will ensure "minimal collateral damage".

The "Demonization" of Muslims and the Battle for Oil
Muslim countries possess three quarters of the World's oil reserves. In contrast, the United States of America has barely 2 percent of total oil reserves.

The Barbaric Lynching of President Saddam Hussein
This public murder was sanctioned by the War Criminals, President Bush and Prime Minister Blair.

Threats to Hugo Chavez As Venezuela's December Presidential Election Approaches
Since beginning his presidency in 1999, Hugo Chavez & his MVR Movement have transformed Venezuela from an oligarchy serving the rich to a model democratic state serving all the people

Russia and Central Asian Allies Conduct War Games in Response to US Threats
The entire region seems to be on a war footing. These CSTO war games should be seen in relation to those launched barely a week earlier by Iran, in response to continued US military threats.

Iraqi Women Under US Occupation
Under the US Occupation, the situation of Iraqi women has continued to deteriorate. In addition to torture, sexual violence and rape by U.S. Occupation forces, a great number of Iraqi women and girls are kept locked up in their homes by a very real fear of abduction and criminal abuse.

Sensing a pattern yet?

It's not that the articles are badly written, boring or even entirely fallacious, they aren't. But to designate this content as "Global Research" is a bit misleading. Spend an hour reading and you'd come away certain that if the US would simply slide off the planet all problems would evaporate and a shining global utopia would reign. I think "Global Research to Assign Universal Blame for Anything Even Remotely Disconcerting to the Evil Empire of America" has a nice, more accurate ring to it.
